#WNHT Interviews @DileesaHunter #TrainingVoicesForSuccess

This very talented "vocal coach/singer" was brought to my attention last week, and after watching all of her video's (which have over 660,000 views), I knew I had to have her on our show! Fans of my blog have asked many times if I had anyone I would suggest for vocal training. As you all know, I myself am a singer as well. It's hard for me to "learn" something from simply watching a video, however Dileesa makes it almost impossible not to learn the most important techniques for vocal training. She also has private lessons, as well as online group lessons available on her website. She also has several different workshops that you can look into as well! She will be joining What Nathan Histed Thinks next weekend and will also take calls from you live, answering any questions you may have. Once the date has been confirmed, I will update this post!  If you'd like to read more about Dileesa, You can read her biography after the jump!

Don't forget to follow Dileesa on twitter, and check out her website as well!

New @BozBizz interview with #CNN

T-Boz sat down and did an interview from her Atlanta home to discuss Sickle Cell, and her brain tumor. Very powerful!!

Most people know me as an actress, singer or member of the '90s musical group TLC. What many people don’t know is that through all of this, I quietly battled sickle-cell disease. Since the age of 7, I have been in and out of hospitals. Then, in 2006, I was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Many physicians refused to remove the tumor due to my sickle-cell related complications.
These experiences have taught me, and I want everyone to know, that you can be a survivor, even when it looks like you’re against all odds. When I went to the first doctor to talk about my brain tumor, he wasn’t getting into my livelihood, my life. The decisions about how to treat the tumor were not what would happen to me and my quality of life. You need to learn about yourself, research and take notes. Know the questions to ask. When you’re stressed and going through something, it can be hard to do, so it’s important to learn what you can and prepare.
God has the last say so. At the end of the day I do think there’s a higher power and the way I feel about things and choose to do things has an effect on that outcome. If you want to live, you have to face your fears. I had to learn a lot about myself during the situation with my brain tumor. The hardest thing was waiting to see what kind of brain tumor I had and getting back to where I am today. I’ve been through a lot with sickle-cell, but my recovery from the brain tumor was THE hardest thing. I’m proud of myself for seeing this through and to be here for my daughter. You have to make a commitment to yourself and that was important to me.
I don’t believe in changing anything because I think everything happens for a reason. If I didn’t have bad things happen, I wouldn’t know the good things. I’m wiser now. With age comes wisdom and I’m looking forward to becoming wiser. I’m not one of those people who is ashamed to say how old I am – I'm 41 – because other people told me I wasn’t even supposed to be alive at this age. It made me who I am and I’m happy with me and I’m just glad I learned from my mistakes.
Being forced to live my life in public has given me strength to deal with things. I have also been inspired to help others, which is why I lend my voice to causes like Be The Match, which helps patients with sickle-cell disease, leukemia and other diseases who need a marrow or umbilical cord blood transplant. As a person with sickle-cell disease and an advocate for everyone fighting this disease, I am passionate about encouraging everyone to learn the facts about marrow donation. We especially need more African-Americans to step up. I encourage everyone to check out BeTheMatch.org.

Check out T's tattoo's above her thumbs as well :)

How to get your chance to talk to @OfficialChilli

As I'm sure you already know, next Saturday we will be taking calls from the TLC ARMY. Our special guest this weekend is Chilli of the super group TLC. A few things will be different this time around, as we don't have 3 hours as we did with T-Boz. We will allow 20 lucky fans a chance to chat with Chilli, and the contest is the same.

Be the first 20 people to comment here with your full name and email address and then keep checking your email for special instructions as to how you can get your 3 minutes with Chilli!

Also, being that with T-Boz we did have 3 hours, we were able to allow fans to talk to her personally and also ask questions, With this interview, Chilli will be joining us for one full hour, so it's very important to keep in mind you will have the chance to introduce yourself, and ask ONE question.

September 29, 2011

Don't Forget - This Saturday you can get your info for @OfficialChilli

We will be doing the interview with Chilli of TLC Saturday October 3 (time to be announced) the same way we did the one with T-Boz - This Saturday you can start to submit your name and phone number to get your spot in the TLC Army interview! She will be joining the Army for one full hour, and we will be featuring 20 calls! There will only be time for ONE question for Chilli, so PLEASE keep that in mind. The show will be available to download right after the show ends, so don't stress if you're not able to listen in. After Chilli answers your question, you will be placed on hold so you can listen to the rest of the show if you'd like.

@WhatNHThinks, the #TLCARMY, and @OfficialChilli interview!

You can join Chilli Saturday October 8th 2011 for ONE FULL HOUR of anything and everything you want to ask! If you checked out the T-Boz Interview we had last Saturday you can get a feel for how this one will go as well. Chilli will be taking your calls live! We will be posting all the information you need to get your personal time with Chilli - Unlike the T-Boz interview, we will be taking calls from the first 20 people to supply their information starting next Saturday. Please keep in mind, T-Boz had 3 hours to do the chat and it was hard to get all 50 people in, so it's very important you remember to only ask one question. This will allow you some time to introduce yourself, tell her a bit about your TLC story, and still leave you time to ask your question! Can't wait to hear from all of you!!

Chasing Waterfalls: The Legacy of Lisa 'Left Eye' Lopes

Trevor Nelson pays tribute to and explores the remarkable life of RnB star Lisa 'Left Eye' Lopes of TLC, who tragically died in 2002. Celebrating the life of Lisa 'Left Eye' Lopes on what would have been her 40th birthday, Trevor Nelson pays tribute to the TLC star who tragically died in 2002.
Lisa was prolific in her short career, releasing three platinum-selling albums and winning countless awards. But the road to stardom was anything but smooth for the young Philadelphia-bred Lisa Nicole Lopes, who faced an abusive father, bankruptcy, alcoholism and prison time for committing arson. And yet she went on to become a vital member of the group who released groundbreaking tracks such as Waterfalls, No Scrubs and Unpretty. Back in the early nineties, TLC set the tone for a new kind of girl group, crashing onto the music scene with their explicit attitude towards safe sex and female prerogative. Now in their 20th year as a group, Trevor speaks to the remaining members of TLC, T-Boz and Chilli, as well as the likes of Alesha Dixon, Melanie C and Wretch 32 - all of whom felt the Supanova effect that Lisa had on their lives.
